Simula Research Laboratory (SRL)

Simula Research Laboratory (SRL) is a non-profit research organization established in 2001 which is largely owned and financed by the Norwegian State. Its Centre for Biomedical Computing, operating with a vision of facilitating scientist access to complex mathematical models, is one of 21 Norwegian Research Centres of Excellence.

The major area of applied research in this field is heart modeling and simulation, in which 5 research groups are presently active. The projects are long-term, and have the ultimate goal of contributing to the improvement of medical practice. The research at SRL consistently achieves excellent ratings in international evaluations.
