Olivier Gerard

Olivier Gerard, Principal Engineer at GE Vingmed Ultrasound.

Olivier has an engineer degree from EISTI (Paris) and a M.Sc from the Florida Institute of Technology, both in computer science.

He holds a Ph.D in computer science from Pierre and Marie Curie University - Paris 6 on applications of artificial neural networks including for image processing tasks such as automatic detection of the left ventricle.

His main background is in image processing and clinical applications. He has been active in the cardiac ultrasound imaging field since the year 2000, with numerous papers and presentations and 20+ patents.

Working at the interface of technical and clinical research, he is responsible for defining the content of the upcoming products of GE CardioVascular Ultrasound, in collaboration with marketing and in direct contact with key opinion leaders in the cardiac imaging community.
